Clean Silver with Aluminum and Baking Soda

Ready to brush up on your domestic alchemy?  Then this is your lucky day, because we have a video that’s going to amaze you.  We all know that at this time of year, people start taking out their holiday decorations, and many of these include silver:  platters, serving vessels, vases, whatever — if it’s silver and it’s been stored away all year, when you take it out for the first time you are probably going to notice it has been coated with a dark layer of tarnish.  You think of dashing out to the store for some silver cleaning cream, that awful smelling, acrid stuff that makes you wonder whether you should ring up a HAZMAT squad after you’ve gotten a start with it.  But you might be surprised to know that cleaning your silver can be simple and odor free (well, nearly odor free) just by using some common household items.

Aluminum foil, hot water, and baking soda are the magical ingredients that will have your silver looking shiny and new in no time, and without scrubbing.  It works very well, is quick and easy, can save you money and time, and doesn’t smell like rotten hard boiled eggs!  What’s not to love?  Just remember, once you get all your silver polished up and shined, you’ll need to activate your adt to keep people away from it.  Check out the video below for full instructions.
